Painting: Watercolor on Paper. There is a saying “When Pigs Fly” I have been intrigued with for years and finally painted a series of three. I often drive through Topanga Canyon and am inspired by the flying pig that is mounted high up on a pole somewhere in the middle of it. The painting is in watercolor and I use a brush for the back ground wash but a pallet knife for the rest… I like the surreal look it gives the landscape.

Kimono’s Solo Show

mkimono-small “Kimono”

There’s really nothing special about the kimono…or so “they” say — except for the art that is displayed. It speaks to a magic of reference, structure, location, and time — without which the article is unknown, unseen, uncommitted, and unending. So you might ask, “What’s wrong with that… it sounds pretty free to me?” But that is not the  purpose or promise of the Kimono’s magical presence.
Perfection is it’s mystery, for if it is not—Why the Geisha?

Special set of small images for sale. Click to see the show and more on how to purchase.

Are You Flying out of LAX Terminal One ….?

Le Petit Jardin

“Le Petit Jardin celebrates Los Angeles in bloom with over thirty-five works of art from twenty-six Los Angeles artists, each focusing on a different aspect of nature to create a petit jardin, a little garden, for this gallery space within the urban context of Los Angeles. From a painting of an impossibly lush lawn, to photographs of a single flower, we see how we are connected to nature and how it plays a pivotal role in the landscape around us in the Los Angeles basin.”
