Award: “We Dance” by Karrie Ross, won Honorable Mention in the Blossoms II-Art of Flowers Show

Spiral Series: “We Dance” by Karrie Ross awarded Honorable Mention in the Blossoms II Awards Show 2010

I’m excited to announce that my painting, “We Dance” by Karrie Ross, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2011-2012 BLOSSOM exhibition sponsored by The Susan Kathleen Black Foundation www.susankblackfoundation.com and will be listed in the online exhibition and show catalog. (Note: at this time 02/09/11 they are only showing Blossoms I exhibition. I hope they put up Blossoms II soon.)

There were over 2,300 entries from 1,300 artists from 35 countries. Tour begins at The Naples Museum of Art in Florida from Tuesday, February 1, 2011 through Sunday, April 10, 2011. A tour of selections from the exhibition is being organized by David J. Wagner, Ph.D., Curator/Tour Director, for display at other museum venues throughout the United States.

I’d like to thank the Jurors for their time and consideration: Stephen Doherty, Darlene Cecil, Morten E. Solberg, Michael Culver, Susan T. Fisher, Jim Johnson, Richard Los, Valerie Loupe Olsen, and Beryl B. Simpson.

Being that the majority of entries are realistic, I feel my abstract held it’s own and I’m pleased to be recognized and be a part of the show. So this is something to remember… just because you don’t do a style that is ‘usual’ doesn’t mean your art won’t be responded to… I encourage you to JUMP IN and give it your all….
